Square Lake Association

A Letter from Jim Seidl, Square Lake Association President

Thanks for visiting our website, a learning platform for increasing awareness of the water quality threats to Square Lake, including a proactive focus on Aquatic Invasive Species (AIS) risk management.

As an educational resource for Square Lake Association (SLA) members and the public, this website is designed to:

  • Provide a centralized “go-to” online information resource for Lake information, research initiatives, and shoreland management best practices.

  • Inform Lake users of watercraft and County Park rules and regulations.

  • Grow Association membership from its current base of 45 households, and inspire member volunteerism.

  • Strengthen SLA strategic partnering bridges with Minnesota Lakes & Rivers Advocates (MLR); Minnesota Aquatic Invasive Species Research Center (MAISRC); Washington County Public Works (WCPW); Minnesota Department of Natural Resources (DNR); Washington Conservation District (MNWCD); and Carnelian Marine on St Croix Watershed District (CMSCWD).

We’re grateful for the ongoing support of our Association mission to increase AIS education and awareness, and proactively advance Lake preservation and shoreland protection best practices. We are also grateful for the support of our neighbors and visitors to our beautiful Square Lake as we work together to keep Square Lake one of the top clean lakes in the Metro Area.
